After last month’s rocking party with our good friends from Prostitutes and Policemen, We Are Nice People and Where’s The Ice Cream Robot Soap is very proud to announce our July line up.
Mary Anne Hobbs (The Breezeblock, BBC Radio One)
Mary Anne Hobbs has been at the helm of one of Radio One’s finest shows, The Breezeblock for quite a while now. The show delves into all things experimental from the electronic music world, playing anything from Dub Step to techno, Grime to Drum and Bass and Hip Hop to Breaks.
She represents a new wave of DJs, Producers and Labels, which without her talent for catching genres as they grow and her attitude towards listening to every single demo that lands on her desk, would not be where they are now.
This year at Sonar Mary Anne Hobbs showcased the newest and the best music from these scenes to great applause from every critic, So it’s a great honor to have her play a set for Robot Soap.
D.I.M. (Turbo Recordings)
D.I.M’s first 12 inch, Sysiphos, was a Grammy nominated electro banger, destroying dancefloors around the globe (2many DJs sampled it in their mash up “Sysyphosympathy For The Devil's Haircut”) and putting Turbo Records; Tiga’s Label, well and truly back on the map.
Robot Soap managed to catch a live set from D.I.M. at Razzamatazz, Barcelona on the Turbo Europa Tour, and from that we were hooked. We just had to have him play! It was a truly storming set and we’re expecting nothing less back at our own Robot Soap.
This will also be D.I.M’s début performance in Manchester, we can’t wait!
Casper C (Fluokids)
The last of our guest this month, is definitely not the least, Casper C hails from London and is part of the legendary blog Fluokids. Fluokids is dedicated to the very latest and very best indie/electro crossover type shenanigans, a lot of their time creating their own bootlegs, mash ups and re-edits along the way.
Casper C has played with the likes of: Justice, Boys Noize, Digitalism, Herve, Cansei De Ser Sexy, SebastiAn, DJ Orgasmic, Surkin, Modeselektor, Simian Mobile Disco, James Murphy, Para One, In Flagranti, Ajax, John Dahlback, Ivan Smagghe, Sinden, Yuksek, Uffie & Feadz, to name but a few.
We really cannot wait for this party, it will be our biggest and best yet, come join us and dance like idiots alongside us!
