Any tips on achieving this sound?
I looked, and I looked, and I didn't find a tutorial ANYWHERE for this particular sound.
Bare with me here, because it is a sound I heard in a Skrillex track, however it's not a bass, so I figured it'd be alright if I posted a thread.
Comes in about :32 seconds, and the only way I can describe the sound is a cat dying, I've tried Massive, FM8, and Zebra, and I can't even come remotely close.

Read that topic about 5 times, never once seen a single thing besides focusing on the growl.Hircine wrote:http://www.dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=198681

Re: Any tips on achieving this sound?
I'd say it was made in Massive or FM8 100% cuz that's what he uses(you probably know that already). Replicate the elephant sound(it's in his other songs/zomboy uses it also) then modulate the pitch for it to go up then down.
^ Shitty tips from me but it'll help. Sadly, I don't know if there is a tutorial on that elephant sound but I'm pretty sure it's easy as hell to create. Just modulate the pitch and it'll sound legit.

Re: Any tips on achieving this sound?
yeah hes right its all about the pitch modulation. your best bet is to first automate the pitch envelope in your daw with a blank slate in massive and then set it to loop while you tweak massive until it sounds right.
fuck treble
