Sepia - Crushed EP (BDEM003)
Our third release brings artist Sepia's debut release 'Crushed EP', containing four brilliant songs in the 140 BPM region.
Sepia makes music taking inspiration from genres such as House, Garage, Bassline, Dubstep, Grime and Drum & Bass; creating his own sound which has been described as music like Burials, that you can dance to! Sepia is also an active DJ across the UK and plays music from genres of those who inspire him. He throws a tight set with very energetic presence which makes the ravers hype! See a list of his coming sets at his Facebook page.
'Crushed EP' is a deep and rolling percussive journey through Sepia's urban night adventures. The tracks contain carefully pitched vocals leaving you with that recognisable haunting feeling that's apparent in a fair amount of Bass Music at the moment, but there's something about Sepia's pitch shifting which makes his tracks far more unique, maybe because he tends to pitch down more than up! With rolling beats which blend between Garage and Dubstep in a similar fashion to Phaeleh, slightly dark and swirling pads and bouncy basslines, this release one not to miss if you're a fan of Bass Music.

What Others Are Saying
"The artist formerly known as Brown Noise reinvents himself with his new project, Sepia. This first release on B-Dem Records shows just how far his production has come, with filtered and pitch bent vocals over dark atmospheric melodies and garage-esque beats invoking artists such as Burial and El-B. Out on Juno download on April 23rd, this really is a must have." - In The Face
"Sepia manages to achieve a truly dark and in some ways unsettling atmosphere with his music, via the usage of haunting vocal samples and irregular rhythms bringing garages traditional “2 step” pulse. This is where (for me at least) Burials music pulls up short and Sepia takes it a step further by contrasting the dark haunting vibes with upbeat instrumentation which you could actually dance to (or skank depending on how you get down)." - Enk Collective
