This week we see the release of the 'Melancholy Dreams' EP from the extremely talented young producer Joss Ryan.
For those of you who might not be aware of him, Joss is 19 year old DJ/Producer, hailing from Walthamstow, East London, who’s been making music for around 3 years now. Around September time last year, a friend of his sent the track ‘Melancholy Dreams’ to Scratcha, who at the time was running the Grimey Breakfast show on Rinse FM. As soon as Scratcha heard this he saw the potential in Joss and immediately contacted him to discuss his plans, which has then lead on to the EP being released on his label DVA Music.
Despite this being his first release, Joss Ryan has already managed to establish his own extraordinary style, fusing together the sounds of many different UK underground genres. The EP contains three instrumentals altogether, kicking things off with the memorising title track ‘Melancholy Dreams’.
