Mastering?

Hey guys,
I have a big favor to ask. I have a track that I really want to get mastered, as it is on hold to get a featured spot on a very popular dubstep blog along with an interview for their "up and coming producers" column. This could be a huge break for me and I don't want to master the track myself because A. it's bad practice to master your own tracks and B. I suck at mastering anyways. However, paying for mastering is a little out of the question for me because I have already spent so much money on gear/softwear/etc. If anyone, out of the kindness of their heart, wants to take on the challenge of mastering this track for me I'd be forever in your debt.

I know that beggars can't be choosers, but I respectfully request that if you do want to take it on, that you actually know how to master. I only say this because this track is a big deal and the mastering quality could determine whether or not the deal goes through.

All you have to do is listen to the track... if you don't like it, don't bother helping me. If you do like it, however, and want to help me on my quest to make it as a producer, I would be incredibly appreciative of any help, either with the mastering or with something else, I can get. Thanks so much guys!

I can't master the track, because no matter how many of Bob Katz's books I've read I don't have the experience. However, a number of things spring to mind.

1. You can get a track mastered for £10.
2. Whatever mastering that is done, will just be undone by soundcloud or youtube's shitty playback. Unless you're giving the track out for free (which it doesn't sound like)
3. If it's forthcoming on a label, get the label to pay for the mastering.

Lastly, and most importantly, a fantastic mix wouldn't need mastering. If you've got your mix spot on, and you still want more loudness put a good quality limiter on the master (gentle settings). If your mix isn't spot on then, there will be more you can do in the mix than in mastering.

mastering = a limiter and an eq cutting out 30 hz.

if you need anything else you need to work on your mixdown.
