HELP PLEASE! Frustrating problem with Massive and Ableton.

Okay, so let me start off by saying that I'm extremely new to all of this. Noob isn't the word. I've played around with a couple of tracks and uploaded them to the Soundcloud to start me off, but I really want some better sounds. So I got NI Massive. But I'm having problems getting it to work through Ableton. Atm I've just been playing around with Massive as a stand-alone, making new sounds and whatever. But I can't get anything into Ableton from there. I've looked at tutorials where people are saying to go to Preferences; File Folder and change the library to where the VST is located, which I have tried, yet Ableton keeps telling me to select a folder that is writable. I've also seen ones that show how to locate the .dll file, but when I try this, it doesn't locate anything! This is really a frustrating problem and I really don't want to give up before even starting, so please please please, any help would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance.

look at your folder your vsts are going in, in Ableton...then just reinstall Massive there?
