Cacambo - Time (first track)

Post by cacambo » Wed May 30, 2012 2:59 pm

Soundcloud

This is my first track, I'd love some feedback on mixing etc. Also ideas on how to make it a bit more interesting.

Thanks!

There are a few rogue high frequencies in there that are noticeably louder than other elements in the mix, makes some of the percussion stand out a bit harsly. The vocal sits well in the mix, think the sub could do with pattern varation to give some movement, and the drum programming might benefit from switching up to give some variation.

thanks guys, that's kind of what I was thinking too. The drums and bass are a bit repetitive, I haven't really got into detail with them cos it's just a kind of sketch at the moment. I'll mix it up a bit and try and curb some of the high frequencies - cheers!

Here's a reworking of the track - I've mixed up the drums and bass a bit and I've EQed the hats. I also sidechained the bass to the kick, not sure how well this has worked though. What do you reckon?

I use that vocal in a track I made 4 years ago.

Your tunes good for a first try.

I like the drums but there are some nasty frequency in them. I love the work you have done on the vocals.

Try adding some melodic parts.
