what's your favourite coin?

Post by ajantis_art » Tue Jul 24, 2007 6:09 pm

My would-be intellectual housemate asked me this the other other day, thought it was hilarious. After to some thought i decided. "the £2 coin mate. Nice weight, both silver and gold, nice latin on the side." To which he replied "ah i disagree, i think its a bit too european." He favoured the silver finish and shape of the 50pence piece. What does this mean, and why have i even posted this discussion.

What coin u repin?

5 pound coin, buys ya more than a 2 pound coin.

Thropny bits are quite nice in a cockney sort of way.

My personal choice of coin would be the golden ones with chocolate in the middle.

1920 silver dollar. real silver, worth more than a dollar these days, and i actually own one.

im really into coin collecting actually. both coins and stamps. im thinking of leaving music to get into the coin trade business. theres a lot of money to be made in that industry!

My favorite coins are any of the ones i don't have to work for.

I've got a nice iranian gold coin my gran gave me but it's not as fat and nice as hera's.

Out of interest, UK 2 pence pieces before 1982 (i think- the ones that are made of pure copper anyway) are now worth 3p in scrap value due to the rise in copper prices! Same goes for old 1p's too!

I a fan of the plain old quarter, the workhorse of the american monetary system. not all flashy like that golden dollar with the native american lady on it, not all smelly like the penny (seriously, smell a penny, they stink) nt as easily lost as a dime, or as usless as a nickel.

the quarter is where it's at.

its all about the pound coin really

i made most of my big decisions when i was younger flipping them, for some reason i was under the impression that using any other coin, or disrespecting the decision of the pound, was sacrilege.

fuck, i was a bit odd
