I have my heart set on getting a new computer at the end of the year, may do a full upgrade to 9 with it :P

If that is the case, and bitwig does all of those things that Live currently doesn't do in 8, this may be a textbook demonstration on how to crash a software company.

idk the guy seemed to know what he was talking about and had talked to the ableton ppl who are in contact w the store, i guess they do releases in the summer, and its not going to be this summer, he said next summer.

Honestly I just need 64 bit, everything else is fine. Automation curves would be nice though...save some time. Maybe update the stock plugins.

I really don't see what else they could add to it though that would warrant a whole new version.

what will 64 bit help with specifically? i got an mbp, so i could benefit i suppose. also, what's upgrade's gonna cost from suite 8? like $99?

I don't use the Session view at all, so maybe there's work to be done there, but as far as Arrangement view goes I don't know what significant changes they could add without disrupting the workflow.

Basically 64 bit will mean I'll never have to bounce another audio track again unless I want to resample it. No more random crashes because Live's out of memory. I'll use 4 instances of Studio Drummer just for the hell of it...it'll be beautiful.
