Happa

Post by TooMuch » Thu Jun 28, 2012 4:23 pm

Some of you may of heard of this lad. He's just turned 15 (I think) and he is making some bangin' tunes. Been getting some well earned praise and recognition from across the board most notably Loe and Swamp81 on their recent Rinse show.

Soundcloud

Nuff respect for him for even being into tunes im only just getting into at 14/15. But to be making tunes is a big look especially when they are pretty much spot on

been on this guy for a little while, was generous to send me a bag of stupidly good dubs, things can only get better for him with so much talent and at such a young age.

if anyone didn't know, he's also doing this lovely stuff as well..

i'd agree at a certain age. Like i'd not compare a 20 year old and 30 year old because as far as im concerned they have matured and if both wanted to start from scratch they could both be very capable asserting themselves and going away and attempt to produce good tunes. (in comparison to the average 14/15 year old)

However at 14/15 my mind was no-where near music as much as it is now. Maybe some good tunes here and there but nothing on the lines of looking into House/Techno and beyond.. Not only listening but actually doing something with it like producing/djing. I think the average 14 year old is more interested when the next GTA is out for Playstation or who's coming out after tea to play football.

A select few are obviously different and get into good music very early. I think a good number of these people are those who are well established artists now. Oneman comes to mind as one example. He's been DJing since he was 14. so a similar age to Happa.

Umm...this is bs lol. Kid's using the 14/15 year old stamp to create hype. He's not the first n not the last. Click on 'zadeh' soundcloud...Al, Jacob and Samir 14 / 15 years old, Leeds, Britain (UK)...

Also, about maturity, he might not be mature, but i bet he has a lot more free time than older peeps. Music is like an instrument, if you practice u'll be good. You can't practice if don't have time.

ps: everyone can be 14/15 yr old on the internet :)

How do you know he isn't 14/15? I'm pretty sure he is...

Yeah, the only thing about age that is a thing for me, is that i'm pissed off that he is 6 years younger than me and making bangers. Its not a thing that its amazing that he is that young and making beats, kids grow up with computers now, its probably easier for a 15 yr old to pick up producing from scratch than a 35 yr old. This kind of music is the cool thing at the moment now though, when I was that age, band shit was the cool thing, and then the dancey shit kind of came into it, I wouldnt say he has a mature taste in music, his taste has just progressed along with everyone elses. If I had been into electronic music when i was 15, then i would have been making beats then, not playing guitar, not saying they would be creating this much heat though haha.

its just a bit weird cos the kid cant even go out to nights and stuff cos he's too young. I know what you mean skimpi cos when I was 15 I didn't care about this type of music either. Anyway fair play to him.

I spose now though, you can access it all online, with things like boiler room and all the new dubs and releases being slapped up on youtube, pirate radios like rinse are online (dunno how long its been like that though) so really, you dont have to go to nights. You can stick your new shit up on soundcloud and send it to people, everyone on the net has a blog to talk about music. So now, its easy for younger people to make beats and get them heard. not saying its easy to make beats, but being younger doesnt have any disadvantage at all, it probably has advantages nowadays.

I'd agree age is only a number and shouldn't really matter.. but I think the hype comes around their potential. Like Moultz said Oneman was DJing at 14. Silkie made No Help Or Handouts and Unorthadox Daughter at around 15 I think and he has a ridiculous back catalogue of tunes now.
