Snare sample packs

Post by CuriousKontrol » Mon Jul 02, 2012 1:09 pm

Can anyone point me towards some good sample packs for snares? Obviously not expecting ready to use snares but some that sound fairly decent. I've already got most of the vengeance packs and a couple of primeloops ones but that's it really. What are you guys using? I know this is a dubstep forum but I'm looking for some samples I could use for a weighty dnb snare, sort of like this one that Metrik has made :)

that intro/melody reminds me so much of:

that i'm pretty sure they copied it -w-

but yea that snare sounds like the typical 200hz 909/white noise layered snare from vengeance essential clubsound snares

Cuz it was a total gem before...

The snare in that tune is the classic "Pendu-snare", used in so many jump up dnb tunes. It's all about the 200hz zone for that one. You could try sampling the lower end of any snare from any Pendulum or Brookes Brothers song, and layer it with a toppier vengeance snare / clap. Make sure it's got plenty of 200hz

Cheers for the help guys, i've managed to come close :) found a sample pack from crispydinner and he has some awesome snares that provide a sort of mid-range clap sound that gives it the beef!
