Monitor buzz?
Ok so i just got home from a 3 day trip and when i turn on my monitors there is a really annoying buzz coming from my left tweeter. There was a very slight buzz almost like a click from the same tweeter before whenever something on my computer screen changed but it was quieter and i had to think about it to notice it. My monitors are magnetically shielded by the way. But now its just too loud to ignore and its not just speaker noise because the buzz is the same when i change the volume. I searched on here and google and couldn't find a solution that has worked. I unplugged everything and put it all back together to try to find the source but couldn't find anything. I plugged the power into different spots on my surge protector and my 2 wall outlets. I wonder if there is dust or something inside it? I am almost ready to just give up and deal with it and hope it fixes itself but if you guys have any ideas on what it could be and how to fix it that would be amazing! Thanks.

New info: When i plug my headphones into my monitors it stop's coming from my monitors and comes out of my left headphone or w/e. And when I open a new tap or change something on the screen the buzz "flickers?" for a second kinda like it used to. I had my monitors plugged into my computer through usb and my soundcard and i unplugged it from usb because it doesn't need it but that doesn't change anything. Could the problem be with my soundcard? This is driving my nuts
lol.

Re: Monitor buzz?
Use a different socket for your monitors and screens.
Re: Monitor buzz?
I'm on a laptop. I just tried it anyways though and it hasn't made a difference. Anyone got any other ideas? I'm open to try anything at this point. I just tried messing with the volume on my soundcard and it doesn't do anything. Panning and everything still works. I'm kinda just trying anything i can think of.mthrfnk wrote:Use a different socket for your monitors and screens.

Re: Monitor buzz?
Nothing. My neighbor thinks there might be a problem with a wire or something inside the monitors and i should try to use my warranty or w/e. I just left everything unplugged and turned off for an hour but its still doing it again. Im gonna mess around with the sound settings in control panel for a little bit. Still open to all ideas guys

Re: Monitor buzz?
have you flipped your audio cables so that left is coming thru the right monitor and visa versa? does the buzz shift from left to right? if yes, it isnt your monitors thats the problem. buzzing coming thru headphones suggest the problem lies elsewhere. go into the soundcards/computers audio mixer software. turn all channels down to zero. turn the channels back up and down one by one. any noise? which channel if any? is the microphone channel turned up? have you any unnecesary cables attached to the soundcard? can the noise be heard when you just use the laptop/ computer audio output instead?
Re: Monitor buzz?
Thought this was gonna be a thread about a new monitor magazine, I am disappoint.

Re: Monitor buzz?
When I first got my monitors I had buzzin when i used RCA cables but once I switched to XLR cables everything went away. ZSo you might want to try different cables.
Re: Monitor buzz?
Last night before i went to sleep i messed around with the sound settings in control panel like switching soundcards and stuff and it was still there. But i just woke up and turned everything on and the constant buzz is gone and its just that click buzz thing when i change something on my screen. I'll try what barry said and post again in a little bit.

Re: Monitor buzz?
Aside from that you may want to look into getting a ground loop isolator.
Re: Monitor buzz?
ya just messed around with all the settings on my soundcard and nothing changed. I switched the cables and it didn't affect anything either. I think it has to be something in the monitors but it can't be the tweeter because of the headphone thing. Now that the constant buzz went away and its just that click buzz i can deal with it. But i don't want it to come back.

Re: Monitor buzz?
That tends to be the reason. I hope your monitors are ok, try xlr.KavemanM wrote:When I first got my monitors I had buzzin when i used RCA cables but once I switched to XLR cables everything went away. ZSo you might want to try different cables.
