New Soundcard or new machine?
The last couple of times I played out live my laptop skipped/stuttered a handful of times. As far as all the preparation basics go I'v all that covered (thanks to the folks who pitched in; http://dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=229726 )
I'm at the stage where I'm considering moving from a PC to a MAC. The other thing I need to improve is my soundcard. At the moment I use a line-6 tone port usb soundcard. If I upgrade a soundcard will it make enough of a different, or should I really consider changing laptops?

Get a new soundcard.
I've used the tone port and it doesn't have a very powerful chipset.

I'd get a new machine. I've used a toneport for years and it only skips when im using it with my laptop.

Strange attila, I've used the toneport with an i7 machine and it couldn't handle a project I transferred on a machine using a higher end interface.
