Mixing Mode for CDJ's - Vinyl or CD mode?

Hello all am getting a pair of the latest CDJ's soon
but i use to mix on my Technics 1200's before
am just wondering what mode do you's mix on CDJ's?
vinyl or cd mode?

CD mode is useful if you have more important things to do than cueing up like say... chatting up girls or harassing someone nearby for free drinks.

if you use the CD mode you may aswell get these

Everyone always has those awful things set to cd mode.. I don't get what the fuck I should do in that case.

you can do whatever you want with it man, i sometimes use it for mixing but most of the time i stick with cd mode.

vinyl mode all day
then again i prefer real decks and can mix tunes without waveforms showing

vynil grooves ARE the waveform.

and me, i generally use the vynil mode to cue then switch into cd mode before starting the mix.

To be fair, waveforms are way better for that :)

Mixed on 2000's once. After a few minutes you'll have a voice in your head telling you to set the damn
things on fire.

I'm exaggerating obviously, but I don't need 80 buttons and flashy lights.
If you're used to vinyl mixing, I'd definitely read the manual before getting behind those cdjs.

dusted off the old 800s last night.... and jesus, i couldnt imagine mixing WITHOUT vinyl mode!

well i stppoed buying vinyls for a while then switch to serato had sl1 but latently the box stopped working had a go on a mate of mates pair cdj 2000 but did not like it one bit as this was in cd mode its made that skip sound when u put it on pause the cue a tune just felt weird and could not beat match on it never tryed it in vinyl it's just i have a few gigs coming up and have no choice at the moment.

i guess will look into to it more

Vinyl mode.

Once stepped up to the decks in a club with a FunctionOne system and didn't realise the CDJs were in CD mode...attempted a spinback for my first tune...:oops:
