BIO
Embracing classical music from an early age, whilst developing a long standing fascination with Drum & Bass, the influences of London based Halogenix have amalgamated to form one of the most versatile and in-demand producers of today. Attracting the support of some of the highest celebrated labels of the moment, such as Critical, Invisible, Dispatch and Horizons, 2012 has been a year of unprecedented elevation for Halogenix, whilst a very distinctive and natural command over Drum & Bass has been applied to a number of styles.
Forming one third of the trio that brought us the blissful masterpiece ‘Oblique’, alongside Sabre and Stray, Halogenix has a certain mastery over his control of space and time and his track ‘Raya’ on Dispatch is a testament to this, as a smooth bass line works to provide a rich and subtle groove. However tracks on Horizons such as ‘Tender Chain’ and ‘Disillusioned’ (with Hydro) have demonstrated his exceptional skill in constructing dark and abrasive productions, whilst still retaining a distinctive, quality sound.
The second half of 2012 and beyond is shaping up to be very exciting for Halogenix; beginning with a release on Warm Communications with Stray entitled ‘Poison’, there’s also some work on Zero T’s ‘Footprints’ label forthcoming, including some ventures into 140 BPM. In the backdrop to all this, further work is scheduled alongside Sabre & Stray; time will tell where his musical endeavours will lead him next, however one thing for certain is that the future is looking especially bright for Halogenix.
