How to record my song? made in FL Studio

Post by vader340 » Wed Aug 01, 2012 2:10 pm

Hello, Newb here with what i believe is a real newbie question.

So basically i've made a song in FL Studio and quite simply i want to record it as a MP3 type file so i can share/put on sound cloud etc.

How can i do that? Can i do it with FL studio or would i need some extra gear?

You can do it within FL Studio. I don't use FL but if you just look for the menus at the top of the screen you will find extract or something similar.

File > Export > MP3

Something like that.

Maybe he has trial and doesn't see the option? Idk.

Most likely another kid with pirated FL/Ableton, Massive, and Skrillex Presets then calls himself a producer.

Well you're asking a question that should be common sense.

I'm not accusing you of having pirated software, I really don't give a shit to be honest. Other people here are all crybaby about it though. Im glad to help.

Just read the manual or google instead of asking a question like that.

Its not often someone buys such software and can't be bothered to look in the manual for such a obvious and simple option :)

If you have questions related to producing music, people will be glad to help. Do some research, ask here if you can't find an answer. Yes, there are some arrogant kids on here that think they know everything; ignore them. I see lots of people on here who help regardless of your skill level.

honestly, reading the manual is the best peice of advice you could have been given. perhaps the googling it part is a bit rude, but dude you are gonna learn so much from reading the manual.

you get out what you put in, if your first instinct is to jump on the forum for the simplest answer your most likely not gonna be advancing at a pace that you would be most happy with, your daw is powerful it has features that while easy to use are not easily seen without knowing they are there....you will be thankful you read the manual, you will be thankful you read a book on mastering etc etc rather than reading peoples fragmented not clearly typed out explenations of their own interpretations of other fragmented forum posts. (dont get me wrong forums are full of good info but take all the info here and combine it with well thought out full explenations you got from the manual and any other books out there and you will be happier for it IMHO)

Kid asks if he can even export audio from FL studio, or if he would need a different program.

People assume that he isn't stupid enough to spend $500 on a program that he doesn't know the basic features of.

Kid gets butthurt, threatens to leave.

Oh boy

Hey OP you gotta get yourself some power amps, that way you can export audio.
