Hard dubstep/brostep/whatever recommendations?

Post by cheesyc » Wed Aug 08, 2012 6:32 pm

I was turned on to the whole dubstep genre a few months ago. Some of it I love, a lot of it I'm ambivalent toward. Basically looking to expand my horizons a bit and find some new music. I come from a mainly industrial and IDM background and been into electronic music of one form or another since the mid 90's. I tend to like more of the harder and noisier stuff, but I like a funk influence also. I'm not big on the really repetitive stuff, but I'll make exceptions if it's good. Definitely no rap/hip hop vocals. Anyone able to recommend some stuff in a similar vein to these guys?

Noisia - Red Heat, Alpha Centauri, Imperial
Nero - Doomsday
Datsik/Excision (I like their sound, but tends to get repetitive)
Kill the Noise - Real Life?
Knife Party - Centipede

Thanks a lot! I don't know a lot about the various subgenres of techno, so apologies if I tack the wrong label onto something.
