Astral/Spectral highend

Post by Primitiv » Fri Aug 17, 2012 12:00 pm

Been listening to the Okami soundtrack and many of the tracks have this spectral/astral kinda sounding highend.

It sounds a bit like white noise but i think there are more elements to it like cymbals or hi-hats. Can anyone tell me what they think it is so i can try to recreate it?

Heard from 1:24 onwards

Heard very well through the entire track

Also in this one

Cheers.

I think I know what you mean, if you by any chance happen to use Logic, the Sculpture synth should be able to do a pretty good job of producing some similar sounds.

Well the whole track is full of oriental samples so I'd say it's probably just some wind chimes or something similiar. I doubt it's a synth even though you could of course get similiar results. Sample something that sounds sparkly, put on some EQ and reverb and you're there.
