SUB SWARA Live (NY) - Sub Swara is a live electronic crew that represents the best in lo-frequency hi-vibration culture. The Sub Swara Live Set is a balance of practiced musical refinement and on-the-fly improvisation. Weaving percussive phrases in a dynamic call and response style, Dhruva's digitally-effected tabla technique interacts with Sunder's turntablist hijinks as Haj lays down a solid foundation of propulsive beats and massive bass. The addition of rising MC star Juakali completes the picture, delivering a potent vocal presence with crucial ragga artistry. From dubstep, dancehall, and jungle, to breakbeat, midtempo, and glitch hop, all mixed with a global sensibility, the Sub Swara sound engages and unites across cultural and musical boundaries. Sub Swara opens for Skream at Shambala and recently the crew were featured on BBC Radio 1 Mary Anne Hobbs’ show and this is what she says, “the Sub Swara mix was devastating -- a contender for mix of the year on the BBC Radio1 show 4 real… I want to come to this dance more than any dance anywhere in the world right now.” – Maryanne Hobbes. ROOMMATE (Babylon System, Argon, Full Melt, Breakbeat Science) – Roommate is one of the hottest US Dubstep producers on the scene and one half of Babylon System. He’s been tearing up the westcoast and is taking world wide dubstep scene by storm. He has tracks forthcoming on Argon, Full Melt, Breakbeat Science and will be laying down thick buttery rub-a-dubz Bizness at Surya! Boom!
JAH YZER (Jah Warrior Shelter Hi-Fi) is Selector/Producer/MC for Jah Warrior Shelter Hi-Fi Champion Sound System. He needs no introduction being one of the top reggae selectors in the bay area Voted Best DJ in the Bay 2005 – SF Guardian, Voted Wickedest Selector 2004 – East Bay Express. Recently Jah Warrior Shelter Hi-Fi took home the LA Rumble Soundclash 2007 crown and have established themselves as one of California's leading sounds, winning 7 Sound Clashes in a row.
