beginner DJ looking for help

Post by [NEMI] » Mon Sep 10, 2012 5:51 pm

Hi i'm new to the DJ'ing scene and would like some insight on how to create dubstep and dace music. I want to get some input on the hardware/software I have and what other hardware/software that I should get, along with maybe some tips on ways i can use the equipment to its full potential.

My Hardware:

-CPU w/ Windows 7
-Traktor S2
-Maschine mikro
-Line 6 mobile keys 25

My Software:

-Kontakt 4
-Traktor 2
-Reaktor 5
-Maschine
-Guitar Rig 4

My goal is to be able to create dubstep/dance music with all the right tools.

Thank you for any input

making dace music is not the same as deejaying. but that is semantics

you already have all the tools you need to make decent dace music, but you should get a good audio interface with low latency and headphones/monitors.

you mentioned youve got a cpu (central processing unit). again, semantics aside, im assuming youve got a functioning computer. you can get a good usb/firewire interface for less than 200 usd. i would recommend headphones to start, since they are cheaper at the get go. i still use my old grado sr60 headphones when i want to listen in close. you dont need anything else to make dace music at the beginning

good luck
