Dubstep Sufferah mix

I was a bit scared about posting about this mix, partly because I'm new here (though I've been lurking forever) and partly because there are so many top quality mixes posted here. Anyway...

I wanted to showcase the best dubstep of the last year or so, presenting it in the way that I think works best: that is, dubstep as the inheritor of both reggae and industrial. So I did a mix of dubstep in dub: great dubstep tunes with heaps of FX and re-edits, done digitally. Part of the inspiration was Paul Autonomic's brilliant first dubstep / grime mix, which I loved (I deliberately didn't listen to his second, fantastic mix until I finished this one.

So the purpose of this mix wasn't to show off turntablist skills, but to do a widescreen, fully-realised snap-shot of this mix over a CD's length. It's not a replacement for your Youngsta or Skream or Forensics turntable sets, but it is I hope a complement of them. The tunes are going to be, if anything, over-familiar to the people on this forum, but I hope what I've done with them, and the momentum of the mix, will make them sound fresh again. Dub 'pon dub. Sufferah's music.

The track listing is:

1. 0.00. Coki (Digital Mystikz) - Mood Dub (DMZ DMZ004)
2. 4.14. Digital Mystikz - Jah Fire (DMZ DMZ002)
3. 6.19. Skream - Traitor (Ital ITAL 001)

For the URL of the mix, drop me a mail at grievousangelsoundsystem@yahoo.co.uk -- sorry, can't announce the URL publicly or the leach sites will trash 40 gigs of bandwidth in a week. It seems to be going down well so far -- even some of the house heads at the Faith forum are, much to my surprise, feelin' the dubstep vibes...[/url]

this mix is brilliant. really top notch, dubwise editing and effects work. (and i'm not just saying that 'cause i got a compliment in the blurb. this will be one of my favourite things this year.)

if you haven't heard other grievous angel mixes or his collaborations with john eden you're missing out.
