Hi guys,
I've been contacted regarding putting together a small dance music sample pack.
I'm a bit hazy over the actual way of putting this together, in particular percussion.
When creating a collection of royalty free loops and samples, does EVERYTHING have to be either recorded or synthesised yourself - even kicks, snares etc?
Or does using, for example, 3 different (already royalty free) snares, layering, compressing etc to create one new unique snare count as enough to call this your own for new sample pack purposes?
I'd imagine not, but i'm unsure.
Thanks.

Re: 'royalty free' sample & loops creation
usually your not meant to use other samples or even modify them, i guess doing plenty layering so that the original sounds are completely unrecognisable would suffice since no one is going to be able to trace that back.
i think the only ready made sounds you can use is drum machine samples.
