Sennheiser HD25's

Post by Rob11 » Sat Oct 06, 2012 8:07 pm

I'm interested in buying a pair of Sennheiser HD25's. However, I'm not entirely sure what the difference is between all the different models, i.e mk2, sp-II, BA edition, etc, etc.

Could someone give me a brief overview of some pros and cons of the different models and possibly a recommendation on which are the best pair to purchase?

Thanks

Why's that? What's the major difference them and the hd 25's? Also, I just googled the ath m50's and I'm not overly keen on the look of them.

Because if I'm spending a 100 odd quid on headphones, while I obviously want them to sound good, I want to like the way they look as well.

No Lol dre's are ugly. I would never wear studio headphones in public they are too big.

exactly, if your dropping that much on headphones. wouldnt you want the BEST audio quality for the price? if your just a music listener, fine. but im assuming your a producer. ive read multiple reviews about people comparing athm50's to even the most expensive senheiser's and people still like m50's better

to each his own i guess

I've got HD25s and I love them. The sound isolation and bass response make the Sennheiser HD25's the best cans in their class for DJing and listening. They are literally the industry standard for DJing headphones. When producing they are ok for getting quick ideas down but I wouldn't attempt a full mixdown on them. They are not flat and can be tiring on the ears.

I've never heard of the ATM50s but they appear to get good reviews.

I would stay well away from Beats by Dre as they sound like cack and are horrendously overpriced. Furthermore, when you're wearing them everyone will just assume you're a tnuc as most of the people that wear them are stnuc.

not exactly, but they are decent. they are more dj cans then monitoring, but tons of people use them for both. I use mine to monitor

Are you buying new cans for monitoring, or listening pleasure?
