Kill the noise-ish dubstep

Post by Sure_Fire » Mon Oct 08, 2012 8:45 pm

Not sure how to go about finishing off this song, so I thought I'd post to see what people think. Any feedback, especially regarding mixdown and synthesis would be awesome. There's a few annoyingt things I've got to deal with, and the mix need serious work, but structure wise it's complete. Just some stuff to fill in here and there. To me it sounds like it just needs more stuff and a better mix, I'd love to see what others think!

Hey man just gave your tune a listen.

Your drums have got to come up. I can barely here that snare. Do you have compression on it? As a whole the song sounds good, although the first silence beofre the first drop feels awkward IMO but to each his own. The synth after the drop sounds wicked and full. Work on EQing those drums and make that snare CRACK!

Just my 2 cents. Keep on doing what youre doing!

Yeah I haven't even touched the build up. I'll eventually put something there. Thanks for the feedback, had another listen and you're right about the snare. I've got a maximising compressor on it, I probably just boost the high gain a bit.

bump/update!

Finished off the track, everythings done now. Anyone got some nitpicking they can do? I want this song to set the standard for the EP I'm working on so I want the mix to be as good as it can be.

the drum filtering in the beginning seemed a bit strong to me, and the drop sounds alot thinner than the build.
what is this world coming to?

If ur talking abot the main synth in the drop, it supposed to be like that. It offers contrast to the other synths in drop, most of which are fairly wide.
