Re: Ambient Backgroud Noises
Take your main melody, reverse it, try and hum it and record this, reverse it, pitch it down and octave, lather with reverb.
P.S. I just made that up, go try it.

It doesnt, but it does. I went to my first underground DNB party about 3 years after you were born. It was amazing and expanded my perspective on the possibilities of electronic music. I had visions of independently produced and released music gaining dominance over the hit charts all over the globe. That has still not materialized completely. I had visions of electronic music dominating the pop charts. That has still not really happened. Im not even that old, but dont take me as a skewed dinosaur when i say that electronic music needs to dis-associate itself from global labels and perky trends. Everything popular gets co-opted or adjusted. If a Britney Spears track includes dubstep, you know you have to change gears.
Re: Ambient Backgroud Noises
Are you talking about the arpeggiated bell sound? That was actually ripped right out of Final Fantasy 7. I think the choir was to.
I really don't have any advice on how to go about creating it. These kind of things really depend on what it is you are making. But if you aren't very good at creating this stuff yourself there's loads of stuff out there that you can download or buy. I know a lot of people are against samples and all that but if it works and sounds good, go for it.

Re: Ambient Backgroud Noises
It's white noise. Just turn on the white noise oscillator on your synth, put a filter on it, plus reverb or delay.. or both, and just play around.

Released a pack with 6 different ambiances all layered together, also included in each folder is every individual sound so you can mix and match.

Re: Ambient Backgroud Noises
Could you explain how you made that first sound in the preview? Not really specifics, but what sounds you've used and how you processed them?oprs wrote:http://electronic.future-graffiti.com/a ... -ambiance/killakam98 wrote:Ive been searching for a while but I cant find any ambient like background sound, like in this song:

Exactly what I was going to say, filter/eq some whitenoise.Genevieve wrote:It's white noise. Just turn on the white noise oscillator on your synth, put a filter on it, plus reverb or delay.. or both, and just play around.
Otherwise, bounce to tape or record some tape/viyl hiss.
Re: Ambient Backgroud Noises
These types of things are my favorite stuff to use for samples. Especially with a granulizer. I've massed quite the collection of those old halloween cds with the "spooky" sounds. As cheesy as they may sound, they are an absolute gold mine. I particularly enjoy the creaky doors, footsteps and ghostly moans. It might sound kinda lame to a lot of people but with some processing they can turn out some pretty cool stuff.oprs wrote:http://electronic.future-graffiti.com/a ... -ambiance/killakam98 wrote:Ive been searching for a while but I cant find any ambient like background sound, like in this song:
