If i reimport my whole track will i lose on quality?

Post by UpnDown » Sun Oct 14, 2012 4:29 pm

Ok,so i have been working on this really dark tune and it has tons of ambiante stuff (effects) that i resampled and my basslines in this tune change and move alot so iresample everything but i still have memory problems because i also used alot of reverbs delays and i have alot of instances of Izotop Ozone 5 and when i play the tune in fl studio the sound cracks and i just finished aranging the first part of the song.Anyways ,i was thinking i can maybe export the whole track in wave and import it again and i can continue working or maybe something else, its just that i dont wanna lose the quality of the sound if you know what i mean.So what is exactly my best solution? (oh and sorry if i made some grammar mistakes im still working on my English lol)

Just export with same sample and bit rate as your project is.

Then when you import it back, import it as an audio clip so it will retain the exact same level (volume).

... also asking about loss in sound fidelity when bouncing...

But...? Wouldn't...?

This dude either has more money than sense or.... ah..... :a: :6:

Edit: For the record, Ozone is an 'all in one' mastering solution. If you're using it as an insert effect you're doing it wrong! Ozone will eat resources because it's a beast and designed to be used on it's own on the two buss after the mix has been bounced to a single file.

Other stuff has been made to perform the functions you're trying to use ozone for that frankly do it much better...

What's the problem with using Ozone as an insert, I like using the stereo imager and harmonic exciter as effects because other plugins aren't as good imo... I wouldn't even use those two on the 2buss.

OP instead of using Ozone you could just use an instance of the plugin on it's own (e.g. you can use the Harmonic Exciter as a standalone and not use the whole Ozone interface).

See my post... use the standalone inserts instead of the whole Ozone plugin. Once you've made your basses or whatever bounce them out and remove the Ozone plugins from the mixer channels.

I had this problem with Ozone before, I had about 15 channels routing through 2/3 channels then routing to busses each with an Ozone insert on and it fucked my CPU for some reason, despite the fact I have an i7.
