what do we think then? i think its a good solid club track...
miles better than his lazy last release....
still got nothing on ensnare/well wishers though...if he went back to producing of that caliber i think he would be one of the greats...but it seems hes not going to

You guys need to check out Batty Knee Dance.
Zed Bias: "To be honest, I find the idea of having a genre of music being called ‘bass’ music is hilarious. If being dark and having bass in it is the main criteria, then I have been making ‘bass music’ since forever."

Exactly. What dude above is missing is his older stuff. Very distinct sound

Re: julio bashmore - husk
he has gotten so lazy in his production. definitely agree that the last bit that grabbed me was ensnare release. his larry heard remix was great, shame the release got canned

Its only a husk of the quality of some of his earlier tunes. Tihi.

It may be less "technical" than his older stuff, but at the end of the day this is an incredibly functional club track that will kill it just like 'Au Seve' did. I heard him play this during sunrise at Sonar this summer not knowing it was him and its been stuck in my head ever since.
Re: julio bashmore - husk
oh well, that's too bad.
Re: julio bashmore - husk
I loved all Bashmore's productions up to the well wishers release, but this ....... I mean there's nothing no it, sounds are rubbish, beat is simple, melodies are predictable, no levels of complexity. I would love to know what someone actually finds enjoyable about this track

I may not enjoy this track that much but to call the guy lazy in his production is just not justified. Couldn't disagree more.jamesyo wrote:he has gotten so lazy in his production.

Re: julio bashmore - husk
But my point is that his past releases weren't that long ago. It's way too early to call him lazy...

Re: julio bashmore - husk
surprised to see julio getting so much hate!
Au Seve and his remix of Love is gona lift you up are top tunes!
Not actually feeling this one so much, maybe it will be a grower! I didn't like ensnare either
His best tunes for me have been; Battle for middle you, Au Seve, the Force, Batak Groove, Um Bongos Revenge, that remix of love is going to lift you up, footsteppin

Not feeling this one atm. May be a grower tho, probably need to hear it out really.
Au Seve technically may have been a bit poorly produced in comparison to the previous stuff, but for me that was a track of the summer. Proper party vibe.

I also enjoyed his stuff for Jessie Ware put out this year.
Re: julio bashmore - husk
i think its defiantly one to hear out, ive heard it out a couple of times this summer, sounds great on a system...i think thats what it takes to like it.
otherwise i could understand why people say its to basic and boring...
if you hear it on a system it makes sense!
