For the 5 year anniversary of DUB&BASS there is a highlight
with SAM KDC and DJRUM with cross-genre bass music.
Inspired by Trip Hop, IDM, Downtempo and Dubstep, London's SAM KDC released his deep
Drum&Bass track "Selfless" in 2009 on Nu Directions, which was featured previously in
"Autonomic Podcast Layer 3". From that point on his fame spread,
and he produced more emotional and experimental Drum&Bass on labels such as
31 Records, CX:Digital and Auxiliary. In 2012 followed a collaboration with ASC
with the ambient album "Decayed Society" on Auxiliary, and also in the future
other expressive productions are expected from SAM KDC. In his DJ sets
he likes to play dancefloor oriented sounds that can be darker and edgier.
South London's DJRUM is a true vinyl junkie and collects everything from Jazz over
Folk to Jungle. After having been part of the Yardcore crew on sub.fm,
experimenting with breakbeats and dubstep, he caught attention in 2010 as a producer
with his relaxed dubstep track "Emerald (The Antidote)" on Smokin' Session.
A year later, he convinced with his typical chilly dubstep and techno-heavy sound
on the "Mountains EP", released on 2nd Drop. On the same label this was followed
in 2012 by his deep "Watermark EP", which he also starred in his "Imaginary Film Mix"
for Mary Anne Hobbs. This year we still can expect his fantastic remix of
Phaeleh's "The Cold In You" on Afterglo, and his first album on 2nd Drop Records.
As always featuring the DUB&BASS Residents MOLLE, EMPFÄNGER, DROP-B, ADIM and LORD DIGAROUND.
