My First Attempt At Making Dubstep

Post by Nrjetik » Mon Nov 05, 2012 1:14 pm

Hey guys.

I'm really new to dubstep in both terms of listening and producing it. I have been producing hip-hop and trance/house music for quite some time but I never tried dubstep before.

After a bit of learning the structure and stuff, I managed to crank a small demo. Here it is:

I know it's really mediocre (especially the melody line; no complexity at all lol) but I would like to know what I can do to give it a 'full' feeling.

I also made some liquid-ish dubstep:

I know i screwed up on the pads - I forgot to finish the chord progression for it lol. Also, I didn't add the glitches and wobbles yet.

Thanks in advance!

Mixing = next level for the average member of this forum.

Give my stuff a listen. I'll shoot you a PM on soundcloud in a few days. We should definitely work together. Between your awesome trance and house sounding instrumentation and mixing and my skill with glitchy / dirty stuff I think that we could make tracks which would take the world by the nut-sack and scream "LISTEN TO MEEEEEE" XD

Thanks mate. I love your melody lines. I can see us coming up with some crazy tracks. Please hit me up, I'd like to learn a few things from you as well.
