Rudimental:
East London quartet Rudimental are on a mission to bring back soul into electronic music.
Comprising songwriters and producers Piers Agget, Kesi Dryden and Amir Amor, together with DJ Locksmith, the four men use their eclectic musical backgrounds and sense of teamwork to keep their finger firmly on the pulse of dance music.
They’re set to dominate dancefloors in coming months: new single “Spoons” is a sophisticated, soulful house duet between vocalists MNEK and Syron; its title is a play on both the cutlery percussion section underpinning the track and the idea of lovers spooning. The track has received support across the board – from The XX to Mistajam.
The last couple of weeks have seen huge pick-up for their “Spoons” record with plays including Zane Lowe (who made it his “Next Hype” track), Pete Tong, Mistajam, Annie Mac, Nick Grimshaw (who made it his “winner stays on” track) Kiss, XFM, Rinse etc…
With fans like Disclosure, The XX and many others the band are fast building a buzz from this indie release on Black Butter… They recently remixed Ed Sheeran’s “Drunk” and are currently remixing Wretch 32 and Paper Crows.
