ExGauge - Beautiful Madness (Exposed)

Post by ExGauge » Mon Nov 12, 2012 5:35 am

Hello again!

I've been non-stop obsessing over my track ever since I started developing the basic intro I shared with you all and decided to share with you my progress thus far.

At the start, it had the "beautiful" element but was completely missing the "madness", until now. I'm having a lot of fun with this one!

I'm still rather new to the producing world so I'm constantly trying to learn as much as possible.

Any comments and/or constructive feedback is more than welcomed.

Enjoy!

This is the best sounding one I've listened to on here yet. Thanks for sharing! :D

Good track. The drums aren't really fresh, they're simple, very understandable since ur new at this, but try layering. Also, the pad has too much attack on it. The notes are great, the intro gets you in a certain mood though, and the synths drive it out of context in the beginning. when you bring in the sample and the LFO sample it straightens up again, but kind of loses the magic a little.
What I'm saying is u need exp. SICK intro, good musical sense there. Also, you're new (like me), so expect alot more as you keep going.

Thanks man, I appreciate your feedback, it helps a lot.

When I was rendering this one out, I knew I could push my drums a bit further... I still have a little bit more to work on so I'll prob tackle that next via-layering (never really layered my drums before and kept them, I seem to strip it towards the end lol)

I was trying to go for a slowly exploding pad, I might try some side-chain compressing instead of fiddling with my attack and see what happens.

Thanks again for your feedback! Glad you liked it!
