SureFire - Machines and Monsters (Dubstep/Brostep)

Post by Sure_Fire » Tue Nov 13, 2012 2:58 pm

Hey everyone, this is the latest version of my track Machines and Monsters, I've changed it from part 2 to part 1 as it seems a bit more fitting. I'll release Part 2 on a later release. Feel free to nitpick the mix, I'm pretty happy with the structure and 7 minutes of brostep is a lot to mix down. :corntard: The ending is a bit cluttered, I'll have to sort that at some point. It also references the song that segues into it(in unison), so check my profile to hear it if you don't get the ending.

Enjoy!

When you said 7mins of Brostep, I wasn't sure about this...but TBH was quite impressed. Objectively, this is a well produced track and you've managed to keep things interesting over the 7mins without it getting too repetitive, which is quite a feat IMO. Kick could maybe do with smacking a bit harder, but that's a minor point.

Good stuff :)

Cheers wub, when you listen to copious amounts of progressive metal you learn how to keep long songs interesting :corndance:

This has the potential to be an extremely awesome track. The part after 1:30 and before the breakdown is pure class. Are those fast notes yours or are they sampled? Just curious. The critiques, and what keep it from being awesome, is the intro, dull at best. Nothing to expect, which i gotta admit makes the pop in much more of a surprise. Maybe make it darker, more mellow, smooth drums, evil progression, then drop the 1.30.
My other critique is the breakdown, empty notes, not too harmonic either. The progression wore off there, and the drums don't enter professionally, the sort of just get pushed in there. in my O the breakdown needs a major facelift. After it you pop back in with the sick notes, playing with the filter was good, but could be a LIL better, the wobbles were a perfect fit, maybe when u drop the frequency on the fast note filter higher the volume abit, but i'm writing all this coz i seriously love what was going on in alot of the track. Some great stuff. Also, maybe cutting it short would do you a favor. PROPS.

Nice work man.. I have to agree with Rappone... the build isn't as epic as the rest of the tune.. tons of variations though which keep me interested. There is a crazy high pitched squelchy thing before the drop which was a little alarming which i guess is pretty cool but doesn't sit well i think. Otherwise pretty good stuff buddy. Would love to hear it with my Sub at home. Check out my tune below and give some feedback if you have the time.. Nice one bro
