The "Right" way to make a talking bass.
Just like making wine out of grapes.
The key to making a good talking bass is to let it "formant".

That statement doesn't help anyone...Formants can be created a NUMBER of ways. For instance,
- Use 2 EQ bands, find vowels you like and automate them together.
- Use 2 band pass filters lfo'ing in opposite directions at the same speed. At a certain point this will create a YOI sound.
- Bit crusher and a filter opening up creates a formanty sound.
- FM synthesis in general, automate the FM amount.
- Use certain waveforms such as the Voice waves in Malstrom or Modern talking wave in Massive, then automate the index or wave position.
- Can use a vocoder and say a word into it and then have that modulate an existing bass.
- Simply use wow filter in vowel mode and lfo to cutoff.
I'm sure there's more ways too but thats off the top of my head.
