GNRL and Kaili - King Of Clubs (something a bit different)

Post by Samuel_L_Damnson » Sun Nov 18, 2012 8:22 pm

is a tune I made with Kaili, we wanted to make something a bit different on a sort of dark (nearly industrial) techno vibe. :)

Soundcloud

Im still not 100% on the mix we listened to this at my mates flat and it seemed too bassy but you guys can tell me what to do with the mix. There are more elements in this song than I would normally use on my own which is why the mix was challenging :)

Mixdown is good bro, bass doesn't sound overly loud to me.

Digging this track, quite experimental. Nice one.
Melodic deepness from my mind.

Really love the sidechained atmospherics, they could maybe use a bit more high end though. I agree with you that it might be a bit bassy
check itttt

Agree with this, treble is lacking, maybe a quick EQ boost could fix it.

Nice, liking this big warehouse/cruncy techno vibe that is going on :)

I'd disagree, personally, re; the treble...this kind of big room warehouse techno doesn't lend itself very well to too much high end, it's more focussed on the boomier side of things on the frequency spectrum.

Big up guys! I think we are just going to leave it boomy and shit to keep it dark and gritty :). Yeaahh wub we were kind of going for the warehouse/industrial sounding stuff :)

TOTALLY diggin' it man! similar to Gesaffelstein :) :4: those dark / industrial techno tracks usually have overly loud 808s and whatnot for basslines, i say don't change it too much. sounds great on my monitors.
