Shadow of notes on piano roll like in FL

Post by Towany » Sun Dec 02, 2012 5:03 pm

Hey guys I use Ableton Live and I'll try and explain what I'm on about the best I can.

Say in FL when you have massive open and then you draw some midi notes in on the piano roll, then you create another massive and open the piano roll to this instance and on the piano roll has the kind of reference or ''shadow'' notes of the previous massive? I hope i'm making sense here :P I was just wondering if any ableton users know if this is possible in Ableton?

Thanks

I get what you mean, and as an ableton user, I don't think it's possible in ableton. My advice would be to duplicate your initial notes from the first roll to the second, then on the second lower the volumes down to zero on the midi notes, youd have their placements there but manually.
