Junglists getting angry about people jumping ships !
I swear most dnb heads I speak to these days are angry about the fact that huge numbers of junglists love dubstep and are jumping ships...
I find it funny how they say that dubstep is just a fad and when it dies those junglists will come back to dnb ! .........Mmmh I don't think so !
Big up to all the junglists feeling dubstep ( even the mighty skosh is here )...
I say that all these junglists deserting dnb is just a sign of times !

one thing i've learned from message boards is that you should never use them to judge a scenes health. you can use them to judge interest, but not the overall picture. i'd say its not at the intensity as say 1999-2001, but dnb is more global than ever. there are parties in places like the ukraine that can pull 5000+ thru the doors twice a month! i think everyones seen those goldie stadium pics from russia. ridiculous!

I think dnb , jungle or what ever the fuck you wanna call it, mostly appeals to the younger crowd who was to young to be there the first time around(1993-1999).
Haven't listened to any of it since around October 1999, because it MOSTLY all sounds the same( I heard Amit recently and that was OK),
But go to Redeye Recs for instance and listen to current releases,
It sounds like the same fucking song over and over with just different artist names and track titles.
Its my roots and I still love alot of old tunes,But mostly now is all just shit.

how can junglist be unhapy with what they intially created---i remember jungle tracks and stuff going clown step and half time in the tracks

Junglists are jumping cos Dubstep is moving like DnB moved many years ago, the buzz of this sound is just like back in the day and lets be honest everyone can see it and as a result ppl are jumping ship.
Alot of my crew are DnB heads and still are but when you take it from a producers point of view you can really see why they are all coming ova.
DnB is one of the hardest eggs to crack these days, simple fact. My guys been getting their shizle played on Kool by a whole host of DJ's yet they haven't see a signing....THIS is teh problem, Dubstep is such an open book right not as the scene builds so everyone welcomes new producers with open arms.
I just hope that mentality stays and we dont end up with the big heads ruling the scene and not let newbes come through.

The scene of dnb i like is alive and well and healthier than its ever been... its probably about the same size as the dubstep scene...
This time last year, there was probably one tune a month released of this style, this has upped to about 3-4 tunes a month recently, a similiar sort of growth to dubstep.

in the newest n-type set he is talking about how ed rush and optical influences him. he references the sick note b-line and how he tries to recreate it. I grew up on drum and bass and I have listened to wormhole countless times. I think it is great that the dubstep producers listened to the same stuff that I did when I was younger. That may be some of the reason I like the current dubstep stuff so much. *shrug*
I also recently heard a track in a distance set (i might be wrong could have been someone else) that had the "bludclott artattack" sample in it. ed used that back when no-turn was first starting out in 1993, before people were calling it drum and bass. My point is, dubstep is very related to drum and bass/jungle/hardcore and pulls a lot from it. I have introduced friends of mine to dubstep and their reaction is that it sounds like a techstep track played on the wrong speed. I think it is great that more people are tuning into the sound and I understand why the dnb heads are into it so much. Most all of the current dnb that I have heard is rubbish and it seems only natural that the dubstep scene will see more and more converts in the future as the sound disseminates to the masses.
This also brings up another question/debate about what will happen to dubstep if it becomes popular like dnb did in the mid 90s, but I will leave that to the music critics to postulate about while I just kickback and enjoy the bass.
