Why hasn't Skrillex released anything new in almost a year?

I have been wondering this for a while. He was banging out song after song in 2010 and 2011 but released next to nothing in 2012. There was that Make it burn dem song (which I wasn't very fond of) and that My name is Skrillex remix for Wreck it Ralph. That's basically it. Now it's officially 2013. Where has the man been?

Touring, doing a bunch with OSWLA. Not much of a fan at all, but running a label that big must be quite a job, so props to him on that.

He is at the stage where he doesn't ever have to make another track if he doesn't want to. He can tour for the rest of his life on the stuff he's already made.

Here's a little food for thought. Almost every track he's made in 2012 has been embraced by the masses as a genre defining track. His 'dubstep' tracks in 2011 and early 2012 made all these new kids switch their focus to the louder more midrange sound. His Birdy Nam Nam remix made such a splash that those kids switched again and are making 'trap.' He makes a track with Damian Marley and puts a reggae skank in it, and suddenly big brostep producers like Knife Party, Skism, Zomboy, what-have-you are all putting a reggae skank in their productions (which, as an aside, I appreciate greatly).

Given all that, if I was Skrillex, I would hesitate to release anything that wasn't what I thought to be cutting edge.

I will not miss his sounds, but the wave he made was impressive and funny to see.

That and the running of his label too. A lot of valid points made here by others are true.

I will go ahead and take some hate; I like Skrillex (crickets) hah. Whatever he did and however he did it, it worked. Grats to the dude, he's a hard worker.

but although i can't stand infact hate the bones off his music, his presence big or small really don't bother me.
i simply ignore his music and tunes alike. guy has made some serious doe tho, so big up to him.
