New Skrillex EP (LEAVING) - Thoughts? 3 Songs.

Post by daeMTHAFKNkim » Thu Jan 03, 2013 9:42 am

Burial-esque.

Justice-ish.

Banger.

My opinions.

Went more ambient with the new stuff, still has his style in it somewhat. I like it because it's different. I give it 4/5 Doritos Locos Tacos

It's about as generic sounding as the cover looks imo. On the other hand, it's actually listenable, making it a huge step up from his previous stuff.

Edit: only talking about Leaving

I actually really enjoyed "Leaving". So many people on the comments are hating on it saying shit like "wtf is this?!" lol Just proving once again how narrow minded a lot of his fans are.

Leaving' is a decidedly melancholy new tune, which seems to take inspiration from UK garage rhythms and the rainy ambience of Burial. It's a curveball from Skrillex and available via his new Nest project :W:

The sounds don't sound right together imo. The snare on leaving is stupid

I for one, welcome Skrillex's bastardization of 'future garage' or whatever this is, as long as it upsets more people in snapbacks.

"To Skrillex, whilst you have every right to make any genre you like, please learn and understand about Future Garage, what the movement is about, what the sound is about, the whole 'family' aspect of it"

:corntard:
