Beat Bar are proud to announce the live realisation of Mala’s latest project for Gilles Petersons' Brownswood Recordings - MALA IN CUBA
In May 2011 Mala (Digital Mystikz) traveled to Havana, Cuba with Gilles Peterson to record and collaborate with local musicians as part of the ongoing Havana Cultura project. Mala installed himself in a small studio with a constant stream of gifted local musicians and vocalists passing through, from diva Danay Suarez to the legendary percussionist Changuito and acclaimed pianist Roberto Fonseca. The resulting ‘Mala in Cuba’ marries the intricate rhythms and deep, spiritual roots of Cuba with Mala’s own roots in South London and his dedication to bass culture.

It's not often that you'll get to see Mala in such an intimate venue, this is certainly a one-off, must see event.
Beat Bar is located to the side of the Merrion Centre (round the corner from KFC) and is powered by a weighty Funktion 1 sound system.
