anthem for the ever-present threat of...

"anthem for the ever-present threat of..." is old music. it's not particularly elderly in the grand scheme of human musical history, but rapidly approaching 10 years of existence, this music shows its age in its mastering, mixdowns, and production.

i recently rediscovered this music on a back-up hard drive and was blown away. something two hobbyists put together for fun a decade ago sounds extremely innovative today, especially given the electronic music scene's current trends of retro styles and me-too EDM genre facsimiles.

i did a little DAW magic to clean up the masters, but other than some EQing and 2012-quality mastering plugins, this music is identical to how it was crafted back in 2003 by earvalve & kochlear (now vax & some dude who makes 3d cartoons instead of guitar jams). it was made in FL version 4 and cakewalk on woefully underpowered hardware that currently resides on a toxic pile of consumer electronic waste somewhere in china.

"anthem" is made up of four movements forming a larger opus. i hope you enjoy listening as much as i did rediscovering an old relic from my past.
