Skeem - Jah Know (Reggae/ Dub)
Here's a song I've been working on for quite a while. I was going for a reggae dub style sound with delayed guitar, trippy dub siren fx and heavy low end. Feedback would be greatly appreciated. This isn't the finished project because I know there's still some things wrong with it, Hopefully you guys can shed some light on it for me. Much love.

listening to the updated version on your soundcloud profile...
def got some cool samples laced up innit...the mix still needs some work though: i'd focus on thickening up the snare drum for starters.
cheers

Yeah it definitely is lacking, my friend pointing that out to me earlier in the day and now I'm starting to notice it. Thanks for the feedback! Some of the fx are too high or too low as wellroyalB wrote:listening to the updated version on your soundcloud profile...

Agree re; the snare, quite quiet sounding in the mix and could do with bringing up considerably.

Its sounding sick man, you got that snare sounding better now, id still probably layer it with something more but w/e. the bass line is nice because its a sub
the arrangement is kinda interesting too.
Re: Skeem - Jah Know (Reggae/ Dub)
Are those Mokko samples?
Re: Skeem - Jah Know (Reggae/ Dub)
The 'easy bubba' and 'it's been going on from creation' are Ras Mokko. The 'jah know' sample is from a series of videos by Rinse FM called 18 Years of Rinse. Not gonna specify which one but if you want to do some skimming you could find it pretty quick, great video series by the way if you haven't seen it yet.Vodun wrote:Are those Mokko samples?

Thanks! I kind of prefer my snares to be a bit quieter so it doesn't distract from other sounds as much. I may layer something over if I get around to releasing an EP that has this one on it. Gotta let this one sit for a bit before I make any changes. I've heard it about 4,000 times this weekSinestepper wrote:Its sounding sick man, you got that snare sounding better now, id still probably layer it with something more but w/e. the bass line is nice because its a subthe arrangement is kinda interesting too.
