4 Years of We Fear Silence

Saturday 23rd March 2013 / Cable, London / 22.00-06.00

Main Room: Boddika, BNJMN, Dexter, Roman Lindau, Braiden

Room 2 Hosted By Loose Synths: Spokes, Shooting Horses, DLVRY

Our mission was simple; to banish any notion of quiet from the capital by facing only forward in everything we did from the outset. We Fear Silence was conceived in 2009 to bring together only the most innovative and experimental London promoters, all under one banner. Having always placed our emphasis on provoking thought, rather than adhering to trends and our cross-genre approach, we’ve always focused on quality and character rather than having one single musical direction. So, of course, after 4 years, we weren't going to let go off without a bang. Step up, Boddika.

Formerly a member of experimental, half-tempo Drum & Bass duo Instra:Mental, Alex Green is an ever evolving force in electronic music. Alongside Jon Conve, Instra:Mental embarked on a determinedly independent course for their label, Nonplus, releasing German experimental House from Kassem Mosse, electronic strangeness from Actress, and dubstep from the likes of Skream. After the precipitous creative drop-off of contemporary dubstep, things began to change for the duo and after their first LP together they called time to focus on solo projects.

Green debuted the Boddika project back in 2010, but it was only 2011 that he really began forging his new found sound with a plethora of dirty, raw electro cuts releasing via Loefah’s Swamp 81. Collaborations with Hotflush man Joy Orbison followed, helping catapult the beatsmith into the dizzy heights he now finds himself.

Alongside Boddika, we welcome German frontrunner BNJMN. Having always blurred the boundaries between the world of techno, house and funk, his full lengths for Rush Hour records were famed for their esteemed mix of sounds. BNJMN's discerning style is in high demand - with a new album penned in for release in April, he'll be showcasing some exclusives, so be down at the front for this one.

Last of all, Dexter and Roman Lindau, have both travelled over from foreign shores to join us on the Cable dancefloor. Ready to big up their respective homelands of Germany and Holland for us in to very special, select one off sets as they rep Rush Hour and Ostgut Ton Records respectively.

We're ready to party, you better be too. Keep it locked.

Boddika has given us a copy of his latest vinyl LP 'Think & Change' which recently came out on the Nonplus imprint to give away.

And he has let us in on something; "Each release is numbered, so I'll give away number 909, which is pretty cool!” The man has given us number 909! As the Roland 909 drum machine features on much of the material on the LP it's a nice touch.
