If you could use only one sample pack....

Post by outbound » Mon Feb 18, 2013 7:29 am

Morning DSF. I was just thinking this to myself. I'm pretty sure everybody likes to use samples from as many different sources as possible but if you were only allowed to use one sample pack for all of your productions which would it be?

Mine would have to be the Hit kit V3 it has quite a lot of drum sounds as well as a fair amount of other interesting sounds (Stabs, SFX etc)

Can I use other sounds that I've sampled myself or just that sample pack and nothing else?

My personal favorite (for drums at least) is the Davide Carbone DnB master class pack... It has such realistic samples... Another contender would be the "9th wonder" sample pack? I remember finding it as a free download somewhere and it ended up having some really sexy drums.

Edit: Holy shit I found the website, turns out it has a ridiculous amount of free sample packs.

i agree, iv had that "9th wonder" pack for years (although 9th wonder's drums are better if you listen to his beats)
iv always used that pack here and there, the snares stand out.

You can use synthesis but that's it. All audio samples have to come from that one pack :D

My field recorder.

Or if you don't accept that, the Gold Baby Vinyl pack. It *almost* doesn't matter since modern DAWs + synthesis can turn any sound into anything else, lol.
