what am I missing?

Post by goldengrime » Wed Feb 27, 2013 8:24 am

Something I don't get...

I don't get how everyone slates the whole brostep sound etc. But in the same breath reps the DJs that rep the sound?

Also, most of the production techniques asked and talked about on the forums are sounds for huge brostep snares and basses etc.

Just don't seem to get where the line is? Or even if there is one?

I have a dream and all that...

Let's address this point by point;

This is rarely done by the same person IME...though if you have specific examples I'd be happy to re-evaluate.

Brostep producers are inherently lazy and interested more in fame/money/bitches than actually taking time to develop their craft. As such, rather than learning by doing and taking time to see what makes what sound and how (this could detract from the aforementioned f/m/b demands of daily life) they instead post questions asking other how to do it, in a sort of special needs support group scenario.

As such, that is why you will see more threads asking about simplistic music, as the 'producers' of said music are lazy and f/m/b orientated.

There is no line, there is full integration. To segregate with lines would be against Dr. King's wishes;

In the meantime, those of us unbothered by the retard influx of cracked Massive users can relax and enjoy the blissful utopia that exists, hiding in plain site in the good threads, the just threads, the righteous threads...where discussion of ideas and concepts takes precedence over copycat patch grabbing and reese/growl bass dick waving contests.

If you make sick drops, bitches will come.

But yeah, I don't understand the whole "bro" vs "dubstep" thing. IMO it's 2 different genres and if you don't like one, then fine. Personally, I don't much care for "dubstep". I enjoy making "bro" songs, but that's not to say that it can't get boring and repetitive very quickly.

I think the problem people have is you get a bunch of young kids with cracked software asking a bunch of asinine questions how how to get bishes and make like Skill-dogz. Which can make you biased to the scene.

Then there are those of us who think its a fascinating genre based solely on pushing the limits of sound design.
This space for rent.
