Ok, i'm doing this on behalf of a friend who is launching a night called "Pablito's Groove Kitchen" :o which has been branded as "The Universal Groove" - Latin, Cuban, Funk Afro-Beat.... he has most bases covered but is looking for some tunes/artists who take this kinda vibe/approach into the world of house music. Here's a couple tunes he has on the event wall to give you an idea of the overall aesthetic......

Hopefully with a few suggestions i can start to narrow it down a bit but anything that springs to mind would be greatly appreciated :W:

-go to the soulstrut forum and trainspot in the mixes section, perhaps ask on the forum but they are all old grumpy record nerd types....hahaha, check fania records for all ting latin america, the OG of the gregory porter 1960 is still doing damage everywhere, there's also a label/night called sofrito somewhere in london/uk? they do good comps, also another one called soundway which is more afro stuff. Whiskey Barons & Suonho do a shit load of latin edits *tastefully* without going into kraftykuts askilz cringe area. GAMM. i'm pretty drained, will post more advice when brain work good again.
my nerd friends at black pearl recs have a good cuban comp- Ritmo Caliente.

There's so much choice in these genres seeing as though they cross so many cultures, continents and generations.

Bersa Discos records are all pretty good, as are Rio Edits (google)

For traditional Cubano, Dominican & South American, check Gilles Petersons albums centred on that specific sound, there really is so much out there.
