Still no replies?

Cant say whats going through anybody elses mind, your tracks are BLOWING ME AWAY

S L U M P I N
:!:

i want this stuff on cd to play for my friends!

and im gonna assume that at least those ones at the bottom were made on Fruity Loops  if the newer ones are too, youve got some serious skills with the program

that 1 severe trauma reminds me of "a bay bay" a little hyphy song from where i stay, the bay. i'm in love with tek tek rmx, but may i suggest lowering the mids just a tad in the intro pads...

MF'N PROPS anyhow

severe trauma belching scumstep, bug eyed filthpig

anti pig dub mutated electro forcefed on a diet of bile and sewage

tektek remix technoid zombie soldier

let us pray tiny nanobots setting off staticflares as the mothership engages the subcannon

amplified tumbling death march, growling bass sweeps and ominous execution synths

when you releasing these little gems mate?

downloaded the studio mix, sounding dope, llots of weirdy sounds

my only criticism is it all sounds a bit cold and digital, like it was made completely in the box

outboard is a luxury to most of us as its so fuckin expensive. but u guys might try some tube/warmth plugins

:D

FEEDBACK

Post by blackmass plastics » Mon Sep 03, 2007 8:01 am

ez all,
thanks for all the constructive feedback from you lot.It definately adds another dimension to production, havin a way of bouncing ideas about.I always reckoned that its better to let other people decide what your best tunes are.
I am learning that if a track is gonna be digitally released or just given away as a 320 the criteria for a good final mix/digital version are different, and allow for a greater amount of processing in order to get a nice warm loud master. So I guess i need to start trying to push the digital medium for a better sound rather that trying to make a nice pre master for a cutting engineer. If something looks like it might be getting cut ,I can then go back to the track and make the necessary adjustments to make it suitable for vinyl.
I generally aim to construct music that is ready to cut onto vinyl ,ie no stereo bass and a pretty flat mix ,and generally rely on the cutting engineer to add dynamics to the master.I have had too many experiences of trying to make the loudest nastiest master to be then told by the mastering guy that there is too much of something to cut.

PS; for those interested, the Crooked one vs Blackmass mix was knocked up on my least favourite software (dis)Ableton as an experiment into its capabilies and is up on virb at 64k and pretty heavily limited,so that may explain why that mix sounds a bit soul-less, (but I accept the point that my shit does sound a bit dry and cold).
The first two thorn industries releases were made and pressed around 1999 and made on a mixture of Acid,Fruity loops and Cubase on the Atari with an Akai s950(Prehistoic).
These days I using software only, runnin Sonar, Battery,Kontact and a few synths. All my old outboard is now in my mates Analog museum, where it is protected from me.I just visit him and make loads of samples.
PPS;If anyone wants to have a go at any remixes then feel free to ask for parts.
thanks again
