Waves 9 plugins and Live 9 compatability
Hi,
My Waves plugs won't show up in live 9 64 bit, only the AU shows up and obviously these aren't compatible.
Anyone got any solutions to this? I've googled and found loads of different suggestions but none of them seem to be working.
Failing this, anyone got suggestions for great sounding bus compressors that would be better than the SSL?

Re: Waves 9 plugins and Live 9 compatability
Mine work fine on Live 9, I've got the waveshell dll in my 64bit vst folder and it finds it straight away. Then just appears as a folder in Live. So I don't really know what the problem could be, they seem to be compatible.

Oh right, strange. Is there a seperate folder for 64bit ?? I think my waves plugins are only 32 bit compatible actuallyVirtualMark wrote:Mine work fine on Live 9, I've got the waveshell dll in my 64bit vst folder and it finds it straight away. Well it depends on how you have your folders set up I guess. My Ableton is 64bit, whereas I use Cubase too which is 32bit. So I have a "VST Plugins" folder in C:\Program Files(x86) and in C:\Program Files. In Ableton you can choose a custom folder for your VSTs and mine points to the 64bit location.
I think all Waves plugins are 32 and 64 bit now? I don't think a 32 bit plugin will show up in Ableton 64, but you should be able to get the 64 bit installer. Or do a search on your hard drive for "waveshell" and see what it comes up with. And if you find the 64 bit dll put it into your Ableton plugins folder.
Mine is called "WaveShell-VST 9.2_x64.dll", but this will vary depending on which version you're using.

Re: Waves 9 plugins and Live 9 compatability
I'm on OSX Lion so it doesn't create separate folders for 32 bit and 64 bit. I've searched for Waveshell and the latest one, 9.2, is in my Library>Audio>Plugins>VST Folder which is where it should be AFAIK. So not sure really. thanks tho

Ah sorry I didn't realise you were on a Mac, I don't know a lot about them, but my guess would be that the waveshell you have is 32bit, and you need the 64bit one for Ableton.
Re: Waves 9 plugins and Live 9 compatability
When they released Waves 9 and I downloaded it and I got prompted to update several of my plug ins. Maybe this is the issue? I'm on PC/FL Studio 10 never had an issue before or after Waves 9.
I find it strange that Ableton 64bit wouldn't be backwards compatible for 32bit plug ins. Many of my favorite plug ins are only 32 bit.
