He doesn't resample as far as i know of :) I remember back in Feb. 2013 he said he does not resample. Most of his sounds are out of Massive.

One of my friends did something like his style to show that most of his sounds could be in massive, just with the right wavetable's and effects here it is ; https://soundcloud.com/metiri-dubstep/am-i-zomboy-yet

Hope I helped :)

Fucking right. If you want to spend 15 extra hours you can try to make it in massive.
Its called FM synthesis. You'll have more control over sounds like this. And more ability to create them.

The only reason massive can do it, is because massive has simple FM wave tables. Either way. You can try to make it in massive and spend a good extra day trying to, and have little to no control over the sound, or just use FM.

But wait, too bad FM synthesis actually takes knowledge and skills to get anything good, and not brain dead button mashing like massive.
A little tune of mine :D

seriously people? 98% of his basses are definitely achievable in massive. He doesn't resample his basses, he just knows how to process them properly, although they're probably great sounding right out of the synth. Zomboy's strong point is mixing, he's got a good ear, meaning he'd tweak things until they sound good. That's all there is to it really.

Using subtractive synthesis is just as valid as using additive synthesis... there are countless sounds that you would just be an utter fool to attempt to recreate using FM8 (or whatever additive synth you are touting). In theory, you can make the same sounds with either technique... no need to bash producers who do things differently from you, just because you think it is harder to master additive synths eh?

Yeah I'll probably cop a bit of flak for that, haters be hatin'. The more music I make the more I realise that it's not as complex as it seems. Unless you get into stuff like Noisia and koan sound, where the process to create their basses is actually rather complicated.

That was painful to read. A 13 year old kid made it in like 10 minutes in massive... lol?

Easily massive. Just double notch filter and a band reject filter, then add lfo on the amp. Try digigrain I and II and also crude. There you go.

Yeah, if you want to sound like a noob trying to copy Zomboy. There's quite a bit more to it than that.
