Masssive Patches and Maschine

I just got a Maschine and I can't get anything to sound good.

I downloaded these Massive patches http://www.massivesynth.com/patches/50- ... e-presets/ but whenever I load one it sounds terrible. I'm trying to replicate 0:30 from https://soundcloud.com/breakitdown/elec ... esynth-com but I can't find any patches that sound remotely similar to the one being used. What key should I be playing for that kind of sound? A low bassy one is what I'm thinking.
Can I get that type of sound playing on the Maschine or do I need to do something special or tweak the patches a bit?

I agree, I definitely want to work on my own patches... but first I'm trying to learn how to play preset patches well so they sound good.

hm try carbon! the mouse thingy in the middle lets you go slowly through the wavetables and lets you adjust everything else too.

Dude you mean you don't have a keyboard with black keys? You should really look into buy one you can't expect to be taken serious with out one. Here are some ones I recommend.

If you want something nice, on the lower price bracket but works well you might want to think about getting this one it has a dial you can assign to anything and some buttons. But the most important thing of course. The black keys for making that awesome bass in Massive.



Now this one is a little higher on the price range but it is totally worth it as it is made by the premier keyboard and electronics company (other people say "why spend so much you you get the same thing with the other one and its cheaper" but no) these guys do i right. now.. the life span might not be any greater than the other one but it looks really nice. now you might be wondering "this one has no buttons or knobs I feel held back" Don't you worry about it cause you don't need them that's what the maker told me and that's what I believe.

Now if you really want to stick to your roots and get a vintage keyboard and crank out that significant cash get this one. The sound that comes out of this thing is AMAZING. Setting it up to your computer can be quite a hassle but it is totally possible. although it seems like oh why do I need that? You do to look cool! to show your appreciation of all thing vintage while simultaneously listening to and making modern music that sounds like shit and not really giving a shit about the past music and culture. It is often you see people buying This one and the Bondi Blue and this keyboard simultaneously.
