Dusky - Calling Me type of bass

Post by krizzli » Tue May 21, 2013 4:25 pm

Hi !

So I wanted to try and recreate dusky's bass on Calling Me (preview).

I've come so far using FM8 (because I believe it is FM synthesis that they used), here is the preset : file

I based it on a thread on another forum which was discussing Dusky's bass sound in the remix of Don't Go by Justin Martin, and started from there. So I have
Osc A (sine) --52%--> Osc B (sine) | ratio 4:1
Osc C (sine) --37%--> Osc D (sine) | ratio 4:1

I then played with all the 4 envelopes to get a nice attack, and added a little bit of chorus/delay effect to it.
It has to be played really low (you'll find how low by comparing to the original track).

Any ideas on how to improve this ?

Cheers,
Val
